スピン、電荷、軌道、格子の自由度が絡み合う強相関電子系の研究は磁気物理の重要なテーマです。
磁場を用いた物質の量子相制御を目的に、電子スピンによる相制御や強磁場分光による軌道や電荷の励起の研究などを進めています。

Novel Magnetic Field Induced Phases in Strongly Correlated Compounds
We investigate phase transitions in strongly correlated electron systems, where spin, charge and orbital degrees of freedom strongly interact each other. Principles to control such phases by using magnetic fields, charge and orbital excitations and quantum criticality are important subjects.
